Bangkok trip Nov 2014 - Day 2

It's day 2!

Day 2 is the shopping day! Haha. Woke up at 5am to go to the Pratunam Morning Market.

Wearing my watermelon dress which I dont dare to wear in SG. But dint wanna waste money getting it and just wearing it once on DND.

Woke up at about 5am and left for morning market at 6am! The part near to the hotel wasn’t open yet and dad kept saying we could have slept more till more shops are opened. But I insisted the part nearer to Baiyoke would be open by now and walked towards there haha. And indeed, by the time we reached, the shops were opened.

Pratunam Market slightly later, about 8am.

Shopping at the morning market is too chaotic for photo taking so that explains the lack of photos!

Anw, I think there’s inflation there. Last year I used to buy tops at 100 – 120baht per piece (whole sale) but now I cant find that price. Probably cause I only want to buy one piece and the piece is twice that of whole sale but I dint want to buy just to make up the number. So ended up I bought very little from the morning market. Kinda 'wasted' our slping time haha.

Then, after shopping for a couple of hours, we went back to hotel at about 8 plus 9 for breakfast. Simple breakfast with Meiji milk! Though the breakfast items are the same everyday, they change the noodle items daily. But since there are lots of street food outside, just light breakfast is sufficient. Furthermore, I can have my daily coffee and they provide free flow water at lobby! Which is so convenient! We can just come back to hotel and grab water, finish it and throw it away. No need to boil water in hotel!

And after breakfast, we proceed to Platinum Mall! We spent a much longer time at Platinum Mall this time as compared to last year. Partly cos I mainly want to buy pieces which I like and not make up the numbers and end up not wearing them. (I did have a couple of tops that I dint rly like but just bought to make up the numbers.) So actually prices at Platinum Mall aint much pricier than at the morning market. That's if you're shopping alone like me though.

After a while, the guys got rly tired and slpy just waiting for us so we ask them to go to the IT mall Pantip Plaza instead so they don’t feel so slpy. So they went to find the car usb cable and had A&W for brunch.

So while they are gone, we continued shopping. Took a break at Black Canyon Coffee! The cake is cheaper than the regular cafes/ bakery in Singapore but the coffee is about the same price iirc? I ordered caramel macchiato I think. Nothing fantastic about that just wanna take a break from the walking and shopping. Now I really wanna just go to cafes and have a cake and drink. The weather is so torturing :(

Our drink and cake for a break!

After a break at Black Canyon Coffee, we resumed our shopping spree! We shopped for about an hour more before we meet the guys and went to Fuji for a light lunch (for the guys, its lunch part 2). Tsk tsk.

After ordering, everyone passed out while waiting for the food to come. Haha results of waking up too early.

View from Fuji restaurant.

So this is our light lunch!

After lunch, we continued to explore around Platinum Mall as well as the newer building. However, the newer building was way quieter and lesser stuff. I don’t think I bought anything from there?

After Platinum mall, we went to explore around siam area again! But dint buy anything. I think it was Siam discovery and centre area. After a while we walked back towards Palladium Mall.

We went straight to look for massage place mum went last yr! This time round I went! It was less painful than the one I went to in JB with fellow colleagues. But prob cos it’s mainly for legs. And we had been walking a lot for the past few days haha. But I did still groan and whine abit haha.

After the massage, we went to Toms and Toms!

I think we had a similar French toast in Korea. Oh how I miss Korea!

Bro enjoyed his tortilla a lot! There was nothing much at Palladium Mall, so we left for the night market just outside! Though we did not really buy anything from there, we had street food along the way haha. And went to see Berkeley hotel. Of cos the lobby is nicer and bigger than Ideal hotel, but I would have expected more from a self-claimed 5 star hotel. Oh well.

So we just settled our dinner with street food! And we went back to hotel. I had instant noodles at hotel just for my craving haha. And that’s the end of day 2! Next up is Dream World day!
