So here comes the long awaited amusement park day! Whee!
Anw I noticed that Dream World opens at 10am though on the voucher I bought from hotels2thailand says 9am! I bought the bundle which includes Snow Town and lunch. I paid about S$125 for 4 pax! The price with transport (pick up and back hotel) cost about 300thb more each. But I read that they pick up at 9 – 930 so we’ll reach about 1030 to 11am. And the transport leaves promptly at 330pm. I dint want to be limited by the time so I decided to travel there myself. Furthermore, after Dream World I can just cab to Union Mall which is otw. Anw, it is actually more worth it to just cab down (provided the cab goes by meter!) our trip down only cost 400thb (which we rounded up when making payment). So its actually cheaper to cab by yourself! Only cost 200thb for round trip per pax for us (since there are 4 of us) and we have the freedom to spend as much time as we want in Dream World.
So we woke up at about 7 plus and went down for breakfast at 8 plus. And that's bro with his 'just woke up' hairstyle just like Yoo Jae Suk's haha.
So we nua a while before we went to the main road after breakfast to get a cab. We tried getting one ourselves but the driver refused to go by meter and quoted 1000thb at first then finally offered 800. And claimed that Dream World is not in Bangkok, its rly far so that’s y the price. But I rmb from my research that it should only cost about 400+ 500 going by meter and including toll! So we alighted and attempted to get another cab. Finally, the security guard (I believed he’s the security guard for Glow or Shibuya 19) helped us to get a cab that goes by meter. Perhaps he tot we’re hotel guest from Glow haha.
So ya, we paid about 400thb in total including toll and the ride was about 30 min. the taxi driver cant rly speak or understand English but an honest driver! Pleasant ride to Dream World.
We were slightly early so we took some time for photo taking and exchange the tickets. We waited a while before entering. We entered about 5mins early? Haha kiasu us.
At the entrance. Before 10am haha.
Still yawning.. Or stretching haha.
Started with photo taking first! The weather so cloudy the whole day I was so afraid that it rains! Luckily it started light drizzle only when we’re about to leave phew.
From the entrance to the rides, it's quite a distance..
Mummy and her flowers.
Model with flowers wor!
Then the first ride of the day, the duck boat! We started with smth mild and relaxing. And most imptly, it’s smth daddy takes haha. And the queue for such family rides are always so long at Genting.
Oh my, my double chin... :(
The boat ride!
And then we went to take a ride that’s somewhat like the crazy mouse ride at Seoul Land. Not scary but the Thai students were screaming away. Teenage guys lol. I think they just scream a lot in general cos it’s the same with all other rides. After that, we wanted to go for the 4d adventure. However, we just missed the timing so we had to come back for the next round. So we continued walking and saw the Hurricane! It’s the same as the one we took at Seoul Land! But the barrier at the thigh was not as tight so more comfy! Haha.
Maybe cos it’s the second time on this ride, so it is not as scary. Furthermore, im ok with such rides that spins and speedy, as long as it doesn’t drop like Viking and Shot drop kind. So after the Hurricane which I took with only my bro, we went back for the 4d adventure. I rly dislike 4d adventure I wasn’t watching the whole time. I dislike the feeling of having smth appearing right in my face. ><
After this, we went to the other side of the park to take the bumper boat and hanging coaster! I rmb taking the hanging coaster back then when I was 8! Then we took a short break and had some light snacks – waffle and crepe!
We also went to Snow Town just before lunch. Though I was only wearing shorts, the jacket given was good enough! And the best part is, its rather new and clean! The slide down was fun! But it was tiring as we need to carry the float up ourselves. Kept trying to convince Daddy to try cos it’s just like a slide but he refused. Tsk tsk.
Revenge!!
Whee! Slide!
We only managed to stay in Snow Town for about 45 mins. And my toes and fingers are like frozen already. Surprisingly, my legs are fine haha.
Then it was time for lunch! The lunch buffet spread was quite ok actually. Considering the price I paid (125 for 4 pax), its only about 32 per pax for lunch and play. So worth it! Had a super full lunch there. Oh and anw the food and snacks there are same price as anywhere else! Unlike the super duper overpriced food in Sentosa. Seriously, 6SGD for Slurpee?? And 20SGD for a big locker in Adventure Cove? Tsk.
Some 3d art for photo taking!
And daddy following haha.
This ride looked too scary and puke-inducing haha.
Then after lunch, we went for bumper car! Feels more fun than what we had in Seoul Land some how haha. But the impact was rly big. I rly felt myself being thrown around. Then we also took a wet ride, something similar to what I took in HK Ocean Park as my first ride. Got myself all wet and dirty. Sobs. We also watched the show though it started drizzling a little for a while.
The show stage setup.
After which we went for another round of bumper car and some space ride! That’s all dark haha. We then took another ride of Hurricane and went to our last ride – cable car!
On the cable car!
Then we took some photos at the garden near the exit and left Dream World. We left at about 4pm. We spent a full 6 hours in the amusement park! At least one more hour than if I chose to join the tour, plus I get to save a little (about 4SGD each) on transport haha.
The garden has miniature statues of the 7 wonders!
Act yi ge statue of liberty.
Once we walked out of DW, we went to the taxi stand where the security will note down where your destination is and send you to the taxi. Guaranteed to go by meter. Our taxi fare was about 250thb to Union Mall!
The first thing we did was to get food! Bro bought some nuggets from a fast food chain ( I cant rmb which one) and we got some donuts from mister donut before starting our shopping! The first floor clothings are less appealing to me cos they don’t have price tags attached. It seems like I’ll get ripped off so I dint get anything from there. There are rly a lot of shops at Union Mall! Both sides are all filled with small shops! Some selling similar clothes with Pratunam Market but cheaper to get single pieces at UM! Of cos the wholesale price is cheaper at morning market but I went to buy alone so I dint get anything from morning market the previous day.
There were several levels of shopping. But if you’re looking more for cheap clothes, its mainly on level 2 and 3 iirc. The were many rows of shops too. But most of the shops were selling pretty much the same things. Those that are more unique cost more, like a blouse for 500thb to 600thb. Good quality but that’s about the price I get from Korea too. I’m not too keen to spend so much on clothes in BKK. So again, I dint get much stuff from there. While I was shopping, dad and bro went to get a crepe from a popular stall. But the ordering requires us to write in Thai our orders – what you want as filling and none of us can write Thai. I meant like Thai is so difficult to learn! It’s not phonetic like Korean! So Bro got me to help -.- but not like I can write Thai also. So I ended up asking a lady nearby to write for me. Tsk.
Bro with the crepe.
Oh and I spotted a Roumang there! But it’s not original. There’s no side pouch for hand warmer. And I think the price was about 30 plus SGD so I dint get it. (But the piggy just got the original one for me from qoo10!) We then walked around till we’re hungry and went to have Bar B Q Plaza for Thai BBQ food! It was good as it is bbq using soup stock rather than oil! Feels healthier haha.
We ordered a set for 3 pax I think!
And a chance on lucky draw! But somehow my luck has been rly bad.. I got one of the lowest in value. 2 scoops of green tea ice cream. But its green tea! So it’s ok haha. We also ordered 2 sides – fried mushrooms (yums!) and some vermicelli dish. Both are good! How I wish there’s Bar B Q Plaza in Spore too!
After dinner, we left Union Mall. There’s a small night market just outside. So we just loiter around while walking towards the train station. Tbh, it would be btr and cheaper to just cab back since we don’t stay near mrt. But I was afraid of the jam. So we train back to Siam station.
So since we’re already at Siam station, it gives me an excuse to walk through the night market!
Just look at the crowd!
Haha. Well, actually I dint buy anything from the night market this time round. Idk why but this year I bought almost nth from Pratunam morning market and Siam night market! Though last year I bought a lot from there! I dint want to spend too much time as I’ll be coming back again tmr for Somboon Seafood! So we just slowly made our way back to the hotel. The walk is pretty long actually. Maybe I shld have just cab back from Union Mall.
So we ended up reaching the hotel quite late. Guess about 9 plus 10? And the next day, we got to wake up early for our half day tour!
