After He Huan stop, we gradually made our way down the mountain! Unfortunately, we met with some road works and was stuck for a good 45 mins.
We had a stop over for a nature break, which is nearby our next stop!
Bilu Sacred Tree | 碧綠神木
Situated at the 128km mark on the Central Cross-Island Highway, Bilu Sacred Tree is a Lunta Fir (Cunnhamia lanceolata var. konishii,). This tree is 3,200 years old and about 50m high with a diameter of 3.5m. Situated between Ci’en and Bilu, Bilu Sacred Tree is the largest old tree along the Central Cross-Island Highway.
Dint take much photo of that tree, cos it was just too huge! But notice the fog! By mid afternoon, the fog starts coming in and makes it difficult to drive. Look at the fog when driving down the mountain!
The fog is so bad, but Guide Chen could still drive very well and safely! Additionally, the roads were very narrow, yet 2 way. Must commend his driving skills!
After some time, we finally stopped by for late lunch!
Where we stopped for lunch.
We stopped by for some photos nearby before going for our very late lunch at about 4pm!
Could see the Xiang De Temple on top with the world’s tallest golden statue of Buddha.
Mummy posing like a blogshop model. Haha.
Credits to Guide Chen!
Our simple and local late lunch!

After lunch, we spammed photos at the road right outside! Tree-lined pavement!

Wanted to explore more of Taroko Gorge, unfortunately, the sun sets too early and we could not capture the beauty of it. But we will be back!
Some scenery we tried to capture on the way!
Swallow Grotto | 燕子口
An attempt to capture the words within. But too dark and blur.
There after, we continued the journey to Hualien for the night! Stay tuned for the last post for day 4!
Apologies for the long absence from blogging!
