Switzerland Trip Dec 2016 Day 10 Part 1 ~ Exploring Lucerne

OMG too many things happening these days that Im neglecting this place. This is almost 2 years overdued and I'm still at day 10. Hopefully, I can pick up the momentum to finish this soon!

After 2 day trips from Lucerne, finally we got some time to explore around Lucerne in the morning before leaving for Bern!

Of cos the day started with a great breakfast!
Love the spreads available there, from simple butter, cream cheese to Ovomaltine!

Another croissant and donut!

We left the hotel to explore the town after a filling breakfast!
Crossing the bridge to the other side of the town.

Swiss famous watches and chocolatier.

Piggy took photo with CS atm haha!

Heading towards the first stop of the day, Church of St. Leodegar.

Very foggy day!

The buildings around the church were very Swiss Country styled.

Built on a slope.

Entering the Church.

The garden beside the church.

Then we made our way to the next stop!

Empty streets on a Tues morning~

Second stop of the day, the Lion Monument! Piggy holding the Switzerland miji with the advertisement feel haha.

The monument commemorates the Swiss Guards who were massacred in 1792 during the French Revolution, when revolutionaries stormed the Tuileries Palace in Paris. The sculpture is actually a mortally-wounded lion

Onward to the next stop!

Trekking up to Musegg Wall. Thats trekking to us alr haha. Walking up slope.

The Musegg wall with its nine towers is part of the ramparts built in the 14th century to protect the town of Lucerne - as is the Chapel Bridge. Apart from one tower, the remaining towers has been preserved in its original state. Out of which, four towers are open to public.

There are description at each tower/ wall.

Not just well preserved to original state, they're well labelled too! Up to the stairs lol.

Very nice and tranquil atmosphere.

The last of the Musegg Wall is on the top of the hill. Following the road downhill, brings us back to the town centre.

Korean food is everywhere! Hallyu wave~~

Got some complimentary pendant from the hotel from here but I cant rmb where I left it :(

Restaurants by the river. Somewhat like our Clarke Quay. But different aura, different weather.

Expectation: To sit by the river sipping coffee, relaxing with a good book, under good weather.
Reality: Weather is too hot in SG and I don't even read LOL!

Pretty and cute (or rather plump? lol) bird.

Dam with such clear water!

Went around looking for lunch options and settled for this!
The entrance was hidden at the back.

Very homely Italian Restaurant.

We were the first customers so everything was new and untouched. There's soup and salad bar available.

Ahem, allow me to translate.. hahah!
The set lunch comes with soup and salad buffet with option of Pasta (CHF19.50) or Pizza (21.50) as mains. So much more affordable than dinner!

Menu for Pasta.

And of Pizza.

The soup of the day. Tomato cream soup.

Bread to go with the soup, which Piggy fell in love with their Pizza bread!

Salad from buffet bar and bread.

Soup which was pretty good, esp with the bread!

Pretty empty, though there were 2 other groups who came in when we're almost done with lunch.

My mains Pasta with Creamy Tomato Sauce, Tiger Prawns and Mushrooms

Piggy's - Tagliatelle with Beef Filet Cubes and Creamy Whisky Sauce

Aunty's. I'm guessing iSiciliana - Tomatoes, Mozzarella, Chicken, Green Pepper and Herb Butter

I rly liked the pasta! I'm not a pasta person so not many pasta can impress me haha. But this is rly good!

And after lunch, we made our way to Bern. Shall continue in the next post. Stay tune!
