New Zealand Trip 2022 Day 0 ~ Flight to Christchurch

 드디어! Long awaited trip, after being postponed for 3 years and recovering from my bunion surgery!

Was quite worried about how back to normal my feet will be post-surgery and though I'm still not 100% back to normal, glad that the hikes went well! 

We reused part of the plan we did 2 years ago, and decided to just concentrate on South Island. We also followed a Youtube Channel by Dane and Stacey, who featured NZ a lot on their travel vlog which is entertaining and helpful.

After counting down to the trip, finally time to fly!

Chose bulkhead seats this time, though my preferred was row 11, but those seats were blocked out. No idea how to get those seats as calling SQ did not help.

Poor Turkey had been sick since our dinner at VUE (10 days before the trip) and only went to the doctor for antibiotics on Monday, so was still unwell when we flew.


As the flight was quite early in the evening, we had dinner at the lounge. But the lounge did not have much food selection tbh, though the laksa was quite nice. Only had this and tea and lemon water before boarding.


Asked for an extra pillow so that I can elevate my feet. Though honestly, I hardly elevate them when in NZ.

Shortly after take-off, we're served our meal. The famous satay canape, which we did not have the last time on both our flights to and from Munich and Frankfurt. This was really nice, yumz.
The lighting was too warm to get a nice photo.

Book the chef - Lobster Thermidor. Gave it the second chance as they changed from rice to fondant potato. But will not try it again. 



Dessert was some vanilla and chocolate ice cream that felt a little like Viennetta..


After dinner, we tried to sleep but I couldn't fall asleep as usual. Poor Turkey couldn't sleep too as he wasn't feeling well. Got up shortly to wash up and it was breakfast time! It started with some fruits and garlic bread, which somehow I forgot about taking a photo of and waited quite a while for my mains of BCM to be served. Recalled Turkey being served quite a bit before me. Looks scrumptious with quite a lot of liao as compared to what we can get outside, but the noodles weren't memorable (quite bland and overcooked)

And after breakfast, we got ready for landing!
