New Zealand Trip 2023 Day 1 Part 2 ~ Auckland

After we offload the luggage, we came out to explore Akl City Centre!

The iconic Sky City tower, where our airport bus stopped.

First thing was to get water from supermarket, before we started our plan. Have to say that AKL is not like what I was expecting, was expecting it to similar to Melbourne and Christchurch but the city is much older and hilly.

First stop was the Art Gallery.

Then the Albert Park next to the gallery.

Oh man my overnight hair..

Weather was just nice, dont really need my jacket. But brought it just in case and as it gets cooler at night with the wind.

Heading back towards the Britomart area, where almost everything was closed.

Was feeling hungry so we had a bombo from DOE Donuts from Commerical Bay to fuel us up before dinner. Recalled it being pretty expensive at AUD9.50! Though pretty good and hefty with lots of filling. Think the flavour we chose was Tiramisu.

Walking along the waterfront.

Familiar Holey Moley.

Park Hyatt

Had dinner at Tony's Original Steak & Seafood Restaurant. It wasn't our first choice as our initial plan was to have dinner at Wynard. They reached out 2 days before that they're closed due to PH hence we chose this place. Rated 4.5 but didnt find the food memorable, besides the grilled fish which wasn't scaled...

Bizarre at how many scales there were on the plate, so we asked if we were supposed to eat with the scales. They sent it back as it was not meant to be served with scales, but the second portion still had scales though less. Not sure if we were the only ones who had this issue.

But anyway, they only charged us 50% of the price though we had more than 1 portion of the fish and were served with a double portion of fries which we could not finish.

After dinner, we just took our usual stroll around before heading back for the first night! Jetlag hit and I struggled to fall asleep though I really liked Ohtel!

That's all for day 1 in Auckland!
