It is day 5!
Woke up, had green tea swiss roll from Osulloc we bought the day before for breakfast! I love green tea hehe.
How I miss the green tea swiss roll! Every other I tried so far only had the artificial green tea taste :(
First stop of the day, Gamcheon Cultural Village! We walked to jungang station to take train towards Toseong station. Take exit 6 and board bus 2-2 at the bus stop in front of the PNU Cancer Centre. We met this friendly ahjumma at Jungang station, who is there as a tourist volunteer. She speaks Japanese fluently but we couldn't understand. She could speak a little Mandarin so she used Mandarin instead. Korea is really good at their tourism efforts! Despite the language barrier, many still learn a little Korean and Hangul before heading there. Furthermore, there are always volunteers around!
Waited quite a while for the bus and the way up to GCV was about 20 mins? Though GCV was in sight but the way up was rather long. (We can actually see it from YongDuSan park! We saw it while accompanying piggy to go run at YDS park. )
Tada! Here we are! Upon reaching, we walked around and snapping photos! Such a pretty village!
It's photo time! And I love the weather. So windy but not too cold.
So pretty! This photo was taken from the the observatory. Where bro became the Electric Man! haha.
Dwaeji gogi! Teehee.
Movie - Mimi Filming location! Just watched it before going to Korea. Dint know it was at GCV, so it was purely coincidence!
Trying to mimic the signboard.
Emo shot with Little Prince.
Sky was dark.. But dint rain!
We walked downhill till towards the end and had to walk back up. We tried to take a diff route but there’s a lot of stairs! So beware! (Actually thats quite normal in Korea) Be prepared to climb back up the where you enter! We’re not sure where to get the bus back but when we saw a bus leaving, we hurry and ran towards it. Just nice the bus goes back to Jagalchi market. Where I can take bus to our next stop which is Taejongdae. (Actually I knew it that’s why I arrange the schedule like this. But just to make sure we board the right bus to save time, Kiasu me) The bus stop is a little confusing. I couldn’t tell which side to take so I saw the bus and asked the driver before tapping. Luckily I asked cos it was the wrong direction! The bus stops on both sides have the same names so better ask before tapping the card!
Take bus 8 or 88 towards Taejongdae. Alight at the final stop. If you're unsure, dont worry. The bus captain will ask you at alight.
Angel in us coffee! Which we went in to use toilet but dint eat till we left Taejongdae haha.
We had lunch at this local restaurant which has a huge and fierce dog guarding the shop!
Menu was in Korean only but with pictures. But honestly, most of their food are red due to the pepper paste and hard to tell what it is. Good to at least learn how to read Hangeul!
Bro's seafood fried rice and sweat and sour pork!
With food in my mouth haha.
My ramyeon!
Taejongdae!
The tram which we paid for but only took a small part of it. We decided to walk the rest of it cos of the long waiting time.
Din't manage to see any Choi Ji Woo gallery there but there was this place that was undergoing renovations. So we walked to the observatory. We climbed all the way up. Not many ppl did so as the entrance was quite secluded. And the walk up was so long and quite scary when looking down. Super tiring upon reaching. But the photos dint turn out good cos of the reflections zzz
So high! We're so tired from the climbing!
Taken by the friendly Korean couple who climbed all the way up! Just the 2 groups of us there.
Trying to imitate the red/ blue thingy. haha.
Bro looks pregnant haha! Super windy as we walked to down to the waters!
Then we walked around the area and the sea breeze was super strong I was so scared my scarf will fly away. So I wore my cardi over instead though I look lk a fashion disaster. But neo-mu chu-wo-yo! I couldn’t care more.
Jump shots! I was too scared to jump haha. I was too afraid I may fall.
Vandalism seems common in Korea. So we decided to leave our footprints too!
And from there on we just walked on our own. The walk down to the next stop was so long but there wasn’t any bus that went past. As we walked down, we were complaining how tiring it was while ahjumma and ahjussi walked past us. They’re fitter than us :( Furthermore, the weather was already being very nice!
By the time we walked back, we were super tired. So we went back to Angel-in-us coffee and had a Patbingsu though the weather was cool! The whole place had a similar aura like Antoinette. So princessy.
The interior.
The Patbingsu!
Then we caught the same bus back to Jagalchi Fish Market! Bro wanted to find his beloved tako again! Rly cheap there! like 11 balls for 3000krw!
Happy boy 99.
Then we walked to the fish market! Bro was asking me how to tell if the seafood is fresh as we walked. -.-
This is the stall we ate at! By the junction. They dint have squid, but bought from the neighbouring stall for us.
When the seafood here is this fresh.
Picked grilled abalone and fried squid! AKA calamari. We had so much, Bro had his one mth's worth haha.
Bro enjoying his calamari.
After this, we walked around BIFF again hehe. Such a nice place to walk esp its so near to our hotel! The Artbox outlets in Korea sell almost everything including cosmetics! Though everything is much cheaper than in Spore and so pretty, I dint get anything cos I'm trying to be practical.
I try to get only things that I need and use. Now that I start working, I don’t think I’ll use cute notebooks anymore. Esp when I’m trying to look more like my age. >< Eventually we got bored of the place cos we’ve walked around the previous day, we went back to hotel to rest. Piggy went to run at the gym for a while.
After that, we wanted to walk to PB along the main road that we saw otw back from Taejongdae. The outlet at Jeju is opened till 12am so we assumed that that outlet is opened too but sadly it’s closed. :( Well the stretch of road is rly quiet there. So we went to convenience store instead to get kimbap for supper!
End of day 5, finally! This was saved in my drafts for a couple of weeks!
