Europe Trip Sep/Oct 2019 Day 10 Part 2 ~ Old Town

After visiting the zoo, we took bus back to the Old Town square.

Trg J. Jelačića

The market stalls along the street.

Photos around the sq.

Recalled going around looking for places that sells reasonably priced camera sd card, since we dint manage to free up much space.

This is also where we last saw money changer on the streets! Was contemplating whether to change the leftover Kuna, but decided against it and ended up having quite abit of Kuna left after we left Croatia and had difficulty getting rid of it.

Quick lunch at the square. Their local fast food joint - 5 Big Five

After lunch, we went exploring Zagreb Old Town!

Zagreb Cathedral, that is perpetually on upgrading. renovation.

Recalled buying a new bag to replace my blue bag which I got from BKK cos the strap was torn, which I noticed at the zoo (when in toilet). Lucky it survived, thanks to piggy who helped me carry most of the load all the time.

Stone Gate -  the last of five original city gates, and also found in Upper Town. Built in the 13th century, the building famously survived a fire in 1731, as did its painting of Mary and Jesus. To commemorate the important relic, a chapel was built to house the painting, which has been the subject of pilgrimages ever since and can still be seen behind a metal grille.

St. Mark's Church, easily recognizable by the brightly colored tile roof bearing the coats of arms of Croatia, Dalmatia, Slavonia, and Zagreb City.

Built to guard the southern gate of the Gradec town wall, the Lotrscak Tower (Kula Lotrscak) dates to the 13th century and has long been one of Zagreb's most recognizable landmarks.
The climb was quite abit, initially piggy wanted to head back for sunset photos but ended up too tired for it lol.

Back down.

We had quite abit of time so we kept walking round and round. Walked through the Tunel Grič - Built as a bomb shelter & promenade in 1943, this historic tunnel offers a central hall & 6 exits.

Towards the end of the day, we decided to get the SD card from what looked similar to our Popular and piggy asked me to take this photo to show BCX lol.

Walked around to find dinner using tripadvisor reviews as guide - Vinadol.
Bad lighting though the food was pretty good due to the red lights, might be infra red to help keep us warm?

Desserts.

That's all for day 10!
