I get the privilege to write our last blog entry for our Korea trip!
Our flight was in the evening, so we had time to kill in the morning and afternoon. We decided to go to Sookmyung Women's University after I did some googling. Apparently there was a shopping street there that some blogs recommended. Unfortunately the shopping was abit of a disappointment. There weren't many shops around. But thankfully there were quite afew interesting eateries and cafes!
Useful tip! There are large lockers for rent at Sookmyung Women's University train station! So we left our luggage in the lockers while we went out to explore! I would think that most major train stations have lockers, so you can do that on your last day in Seoul too!
So, before heading down to Sookmyung Women's University, we did city check in at the airport link at Seoul Station. This service is only available for Asiana and Korean Air. Thankfully, we took Korean Air or we had to lug our 3 huge luggages around. My luggage was 25 and 19kg! One of it was slightly overweight but the lady at the counter closed one eye. Phew. We tried looking for lockers at Seoul Station to keep our hand carry but unfortunately, all were occupied. That explains why we kept our luggage at Sookmyung Women's University Station.
Our first stop was Bonjuk! It's a porridge franchise restaurant that's quite famous in Korea. It prides itself on serving well-being slow food! And we indeed waited quite long for the porridge haha. Usually food is served rather fast in Korea. We ordered a bowl of juk each. The gf ordered abalone, bcx got crabmeat, while I got beef mushroom. The porridge was pretty good - felt healthy eating it haha. But think I still prefer congee :)
After the juk we went to look around at the shops along the nearby streets (when we first arrived, the shops were all closed). But there wasn't anything much. In any case we already spent most of our $$ over the past two weeks, so...
There were lots of cafes along the streets. And BCX found a stall selling Tako again. Haha so he had his final tako in Korea. There was also a Jaws Food at one of the cross junctions.
Anyway after walking around for some time, we ended up heading to a Twosome Place for some dessert and much needed rest! We ordered a Pat Bing Su (ice kachang in our lingo) and a chocolate cake to celebrate bcx's birthday. Haha.
After the dessert, we collected our luggage and headed back to Seoul Station then took the airport express to Incheon Airport! We hung around for awhile, spent the last bit of our money (mostly on food haha), then boarded our flight back to Singapore!
Bcx bids a tearful goodbye to Korea at the airport. According to him, this is the best overseas trip he has ever been for in his life, period.
Last photo of airplane food! Overall, an amazing holiday in Korea! Love it so so much! Best overseas trip I've ever had too! And so far, the country I love the most (and that's saying something since I've been to Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, the US, the UK, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, etc). Thanks sweetie for planning this trip! <3
