The beginning of Shanghai trip

So on the 10th day of the CNY, I had to set off to Shanghai for work for 2 months! Took a morning flight on a Sat. Booking of ticket to China was a mess during this period ><

Piggy and the family came to see me off at airport in the morning. First time being away from home for so long alone!

Dressed in long sleeve ready to batter the cold in Shanghai.

Upon settling down at German Centre, I just went Metro at Long Yang station to get some bathing supplies back (since GC doesnt provide -.- Not even tissue or toilet rolls!).

The next day, thanks to piggy's arrangment, I've got a guide to bring me around Shanghai!

First was brunch at a Mexican restaurant (voted #1 on tripadvisor) near Shannxi South station.

Take exit 3 from line 1 (Line 1 and Line 10 are not linked yet when I was there, I believe they are working on it as there were constructions around), see a Shanghai Tang opposite and head north along Mao Ming Nan Lu. Yes, they give directions in NSEW. You can follow the road signs to know where north is. Then turn left into Ju Lu Lu.

Walk past Happy Lemon. Happy Lemon is very common there!

Maya is nested in a residential club house! Called Shanghai Si Fang Xin Cheng (Shanghai 4 directions new town? haha).

 My Salmon Eggs Ben!

And then we walked around to Xin Tian Di. Heard from many that that area is a gd hang out place with many cafes... But I find that there's nothing much :( Maybe cos I'm usually alone.

New building just opposite XTD. N there's a Caffe Bene. Theres lots of korean cafes/ bakery in Shanghai! Envious much.

Sproutworks is said to have pretty good salad, but I dint try.

Around XTD area. China rly has lots of space!

After that, we walked to Fu Xing Park! We walked ALOT that day haha.

Many Ajummas and Ajussi relaxing and enjoying their retirement at the park.

Exploring the park was quite relaxing and enjoyable! Thanks to the weather. The weather in the first month when I was there was single digit! Exploring parks in Singapore is just too hot and humid :(

Next stop, Yuyuan. Just train to Yu Garden station and follow the road signs. I went back there again about a month later alone as I ran out of places to go haha.

The traditional buildings.

Inside Yuyuan.

I only walk on the outside. Dint rly go into any shops. The crowd was a put off -.-

The crowd... That was still the CNY period.

The popular xlb shop! With super long q. And we decided not to queue for it haha.

And went to DTF just opposite! Can u recognise who they are!

Chao Shou!

Crab xlb.

Next stop was the Bund!

It's the CBD area opposite, the Lu Jia Zhui Area.

It's difficult to navigate through this pavement. Too crowded!

Back towards Nanjing street!

Fairmount Peace Hotel. Which is a fairly popular and old hotel.

NanJing Street! Innisfree right at the entrance!

Last stop, Super Brand Mall to get some supplies!

The oriental pearl tower which I was too close to get a full shot. ><

Dinner for the day! Some tuna pasta. I had too much pasta (kinda lk comfort food which cant go wrong?) that I try not having that after coming back to SG haha.

Thats all for my first weekend in Shanghai!
