Korea Trip June 2017 Day 1 Part 2 ~ Manseong-ri Black Sand Beach | 만성리 검은모래해변, Yeosu Ocean Railbike | 여수해양레일바이크

So shortly after leaving our luggage in the rooms, we set off to the Black Sand Beach and our Railbike experience!

Walked out to the main road to catch the bus to Black Sand Beach.

The view where we waited for the bus.

Took bus 6 and alight at the Beach station. Was supposed to be 6 stops but apparently the buses with the same number goes different routes at different timings and the distance between some stops are rly long. The bus took some expressway and I thought I went the wrong way haha. But the bus captain was very kind to prompt us when to alight.

Finally arriving at the Manseong-ri Black Sand Beach!

There were schools of fishes though the water was shallow.

Close up on the small fishes though not very obvious haha.

Honestly, not exactly sure what's so special about the black sand cos it looks similar to other beaches haha. But there were many locals there chilling our at the beach!

On a side note, I've not seen any non local tourist in Yeosu haha. Besides maybe Caucasian who I believe are teaching English there in Korea.

Koreans dress too well to go to the beach haha. Many of them are still dressed in shoes and long pants and even maxi dresses.

Too sunny haha. Squinting eyes to take photo.

There's lots of food trucks/ carts and street food vendors just opposite the road.
Wanted to get the churros but ended up not getting. And we did not even had churros at all throughout the trip!

The first Odeng we had in Korea haha. Mum thinks that this is the best Odeng.

Had a fried hotdog snack too. Deep fried in batter and dusted with sugar and sweet chilli sauce.
Freshly fried in front of us haha.

Good to go with the sauce!
And drink the soup from the paper cup haha.

Walked back towards the cross junction.

And decided that we should refuel more for the railbike haha! Got a cheese flavoured fried squid.
It was freshly fried upon ordered as per description.

The seller kindly helped us to cut it up so it's easy for us to eat!

And cut up the meaty parts. Nicely seasoned and not tough to chew!

Then we walked towards the Railbike. There's a whole building housing Caffe Bene.

We promptly bought the tickets for rail bike. The max each rail bike can take is 4 pax, so we took 2 rail bikes.
20k for 2 pax and 25k for 3 pax.

Queuing for our turn for the rail bike.
There was some instructions and safety information but all in Korean which was hard to catch. Could only catch bits and pieces here and there. Luckily the korean couple queuing behind us kindly translated for us haha.

Getting ready!

Piggy and I were in the rail bike before them haha.

The ocean view as we cycle!

Taking photos of each other on the rail bike haha.

The first part of the ride was easy preasy cos it was going downhill, so even if we did not pedal, the bike moves pretty fast haha.

Entering the tunnel which is rly dark but cooling.

Whee~ Like the effect in the photos haha.

There were Christmas deco too! THough that's like 6 months ago? Haha.

Then after we turn back, thats when the real work starts haha. Had to rly pedal for the bike to move. Work against gravity.

Piggy looks so slpy!

Look so serious pedalling haha.

The whole journey took about 30 mins!

Then we made our way back to the same stop to next stop. Wanted to head to the seafood market but decided against it since we do not eat the sashimi and had to travel there just for that. Decided to just head to the next stop to look for dinner instead. But ended up not even getting to try having fresh abalone there :(

Ok, next post will be the last post of the first day in Korea! Hopefully I keep up with the blogging momentum!
