Oct 2016 BKK trip was a rather impromptu one, planned with Janel. We kinda booked the tickets in a hurry and realised that the trip is 7 days long! Felt so long that we ran out of places to go and just keep loitering around Siam area lol!
But anw, here's the long overdued travelogue!
As the flight was extremely early at 630am, we decided to head down to Changi Airport one night before and spend the night there at the sleeping benches so that we do not have to wake up super early for the flight.
Piggy sent me to the airport so heres a wefie! Barefaced me, ready to slp haha.
Armed with the neck pillow!
Reached pretty early so walked around to pass some time while waiting for Janel.
Piggy spent quite some time with me and made sure that I met Janel and saw me into the transit area before leaving. How sweet!
At T2 again~
We went around finding the theatre, but dint spend much time there as the movie that was screening wasn't of our interest. So we headed to the sleeping benches to spend the night.
The sleeping bench!
Spend the night there and couldnt rly slp. The lights were quite bright and had some kids making noise. But then again, I always have issues sleeping anw.
Got up at about 5am to wash up and get to the boarding gate which is at the other side.
Flight was just 2 hours away but I rmb having to queue quite long for the clearing of immigration.
Old Don Mueang Airport.
Upon exiting the airport, we got a cab to our hotel for 6 nights. Metz Pratunam!
We're served welcome drink which I somehow rmb it's lemongrass!
We were too early to check in and I needed breakfast and coffee so we headed to 7-11 conveniently located just diagonally opposite the hotel!
What we got for breakfast! Janel got Ham and Cheese toast while I got Shredded Pork with Salad cream Croissant which actually similar to our Bread Talk Pork Floss bun and a Matcha and Red Bean cake sandwich to share!
My coffee fix to go with my toasts.
Janel posing with her toast haha.
My Shredded Pork with Salad cream Croissant! It's rly like Pork Floss with Mayo haha.
And the dessert of our breakfast!
Very little red bean paste and not that matcha-y too. So I din't get it again.
It started raining while we were still at 7-11 so we waited for the rain to get a little lighter and head back to the hotel to get our umbrella. Luckily, we were just nearby!
The lobby view~
The cafe area where breakfast is served but we did not book with breakfast. We had supper there though.
Thereafter, we walked towards Siam Paragon by cutting through the road along where Residence Ratjavee is!
Went to the food hall at B2, where After You is!
They've dim sum as well!
Thai desserts like Mango Sticky Rice.
And the Gourmet Market!
We left shortly to head to Chatuchak Market since it was a Sunday!
Entered from the Chatuchak Park side.
Chatuchak Market! I got this top in black from there!
And the shopping starts~ So not many photos haha.
It started raining and we bought a pair of slippers each, which I'm still wearing now as my regular slippers!
Food section in the middle. Somehow, we kept circling around the same area.
Looks like some new food fad!
Come here, must have coconut ice cream.
With free toppings, glutinous rice and peanuts.
Menu at some random eatery, but we decided not to eat there haha.
Another food fad. But Chocolate and Banana rly goes well.
Had 2 pork satays!
And sat down to have spring rolls and another pork satay again! Yummy!
After this, we left for Union Mall in a while to get away from the rain!
