Bangkok Trip Jan 2018 Day 1 ~ Residence Rajtaevee, Clinton St. Baking Company, Yaorawat, Talad Neon Night Market

The trip started bright and early as usual. Unfortunately, we went without BCX when he was stuck in Tekong lol.

Havent started anything already want to sit down for leg massage lol.

Onboard Jetstar! We had an empty seat meant to be for BCX.

Arrival in BKK airport, just 2.5 hours away~

We could use the automated machine with our SG passport. though the machine dint work very well and had to have the assistance of the officers.

Getting the airport rail tickets to the city centre.

Airport rail!

Quite a walk from the railway station to the hotel actually, oops.

Finally reached the hotel after about 20min walk?

We were given welcome drink think it was some pandan lemongrass drink!
Think it's a practice in TH where they serve welcome drink since all the hotels we went to gave, even the boutique one i went in 2016 (Metz i think).

We were pretty early but the room was already available! So we left our stuff in the room and had a quick wash up before setting off agn.

The room service menu. Still pretty affordable!

Set off shortly after. The walkway (past the lobby) out to the side road where we cut through to Paragon!

Paragon within a 10 mins walk!

I wanted to bring my parents to try Clinton St so we walked around to find that. It was well hidden in a corner...

Finally found it! We were there pretty early slightly before noon on a weekday.

Ordered 3 mains to share to save space for more food!

Yummeh~

After that, we went to Yaorawat, the Chinatown.
Haven't been there everytime we're in Bkk think cos my parents had bad experiences there before and felt that it's too touristy. But my ex-colleagues reco the market there being cheaper than Pratunam area. So here we are!

Food, fruits, dried food etc.

How can i miss the pork satay!

Settled for their Kway Chap! The liao is quite different, more of the regular cuts rather than the intestines/ offal in SG. And the broth is more like a less peppery version of BKT

I got mine without the Kway.

More meat for me!

Tot i read about the famous toast at Yaorawat so got it to try. But dint find anything special sadly.

After that, we cabbed back to near our hotel area for night market, right beside the Berkeley hotel. But we got caught in the jam.
Rmb very well cos mum was wriggling in pain n desperately needed the toilet.

Too hot and wanted some refreshing coconut!

Settled for dinner!

Oyster omelette

Grilled pork neck

Dad's fav pad thai.

Asparagus with prawns

We then walked back towards the hotel.

Cross overhead bridge from Palladium mall.

Outside Platinum mall.

And an ice cream to end the day!
