After Sistine Chapel, we headed over to the Colosseum for our tour. When we arrived, sky was threatening. We were early so we just took some photos outside while waiting for our timeslot.
Then it started pouring and many people were seeking shelter. Luckily we brought our own brolly, poncho and shoe covers, so we didn't have to pay an exorbitant price for the poncho!
Thankfully the rain stopped before our time slot and we could enter without the rain. But the toilet queue was super long (one of the things I dislike about visiting Italy is the lack of easily accessible clean free toilets and how crowded it is)
Finally made it in, we did the basic tour and just listened to the Rick Steeve guide since that's the tickets that's the easiest to get.
Just spamming lots of photos there. This is at the attic which requires special tickets to enter.
We couldn't get the underground tickets, but it didn't seem like the underground tours were on.
Exploring around other parts of the Colosseum.
Taking photo of the exterior from the second floor of Colosseum.
And since we're already in that area, we thought we would just enter the Roman Forum since there's still some time before closing. Without realising that it was a one-time entry :(
We couldn't complete everything but we covered most of the key areas I think!
Walked over to dinner at La locanda del tempio and we were squished at a corned lol. But the food was not bad.
Appetizer of fried Zucchini flowers.
Vongole
Branzino.
Ending this day with Pistachio cheesecake!
Ended a really long day with lots of walking and walked back to the hotel to rest. That's all for the intense day 2!
