London Trip Mar 2017 Day 10 Part 1 ~ Windsor Castle, Stonehenge

Day 10 was our day trip to Windsor castle, Stonehenge and Oxford!

Grabbed breakfast at Pret again, tried Coconut Latte i/o flat white and spinach with egg.

Coach pick up was at Victoria bus terminal.

We boarded the coach and I snapped some photos along the way, the journey took about an hour to Windsor Castle.

Finally arrived at the bus terminal for Windsor Castle! We had to cross over to the castle.

Walking over towards the Windsor Castle.

Finally getting close to the castle!

Finally entering!

Windsor castle - preferred weekend home for Elizabeth II.

Since traveled so long (and paid so much for the day trip), must spam more photos.

Finally making the way into the castle!

We were given quite some time to explore around the castle ourselves.

Change of guards ceremony.

While walking around, I chanced upon the actual change of guard!

Must visit were the superb State Apartments, furnished with paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens and Canaletto and visit 14th Century St. George’s Chapel, where tombs of ten sovereigns including Henry VIII rest in peace. Unfortunately, photography was not allowed.

Making our way out.

Upon exiting the castle, we walked down the street lined with cafes toward where the coach terminal is.

Got my lunch to go, to have it on the coach while travelling to our next stop - Stonehenge.
My Tuna Nicoise salad and nuts snack!

We were handed the Stonehenge pamphlet and audio guide on the way to save time.

We had the scanner tied to the headset and we just need to point at the number and the audio guide will explain the story behind each.

Quite amazing how they can have so much to talk about lol. Being not a fan of history, I felt a little under impressed by the UNESCO site. Felt like -.- paying so much to see some huge rocks from a distance. lol!

Flooded with people - so many people came to see the stones lol!

Unglam, but since here must make the trip worth.... by spamming LOTS of photos lol!

I find the most intriguing part of this is that... This is such a famous tourist site, but the history of original purpose why and how it ended up there is unknown lol! Just that the stones are so heavy that it remains as a mystery how it was moved there back then without technology.

So windy, and crowded that it's hard to take photos without photobombs.

Ok, enough of spamming and the last part of the day trip is to visit the famous and prestigious Oxford University! Shall continue that with the next post~
