New Zealand Trip 2022 Day 5 Part 2 ~ Abel Tasman day tour - Beaches, Bays & Seals, Murchison Lodge

Never knew Kayaking can be that tiring lol. And despite wearing long sleeve Airism with UV protection, I managed to get sunburned as the dumb me forgot about my hands when I applied the sunscreen. And happily baking my hands while kayaking. Ok lesson learnt lol.

So after kayaking for an hour or so, we took a break for lunch! But before lunch, my bladder was exploding so had to hurry to a secluded corner to wee LOL.

Finally having some lunch after releasing my wee haha. Packed Smoked Salmon salad with strawberries and nuts for lunch.

After our lunch break, we continued kayaking for another hour or so before we ended the kayaking. Took some videos on insta, but other than that, we left our phones in the waterproof bags, so no photos in between.

When we finally ended our kayaking, we had to drag the kayak back to keep it. Due to the low tide, we had to drag it up quite a distance.

After keeping the kayak, we had some free time to wonder around before the cruise came to pick up.

Annyeong toy toy.

And when the cruise arrived, it couldn't make it close to the shore due to the low tide and we had to walk towards it, getting our pants wet. It almost reached my waist level. -.- #shortlegswoes

Finally back on shore and got cleaned up, from the sand.

We bade Kaiteriteri goodbye and continued our journey.
On the way to our accommodation of the night, we dropped by Hope Saddle Lookout.

Thereafter, we continued our journey to Murchison, as the drive to the West Coast was too far, so we decided to stay the night midway.
No regrets as it was the best accommodation throughout our 20 days trip! We were the only ones there that day so this communal area was all ours.

Homemade brownies and cookies.

Our cosy room.

We ordered our dinner as there were limited/ no options nearby and explored the area around the Lodge since we were early.

Walking towards the Matakitaki River.
Hello horse!

The pony came dangerously close to me lol. Felt like I was under threat.

The river.

The hens that laid the eggs we had for breakfast lol.

And when we were back to the lodge, dinner was ready!
We had a Cream of Tomato Soup, Bacon Salad, and Beef Curry Rice.

Added on a bottle of NZ Red Wine since there's no more driving for the day. Ending off with the homemade brownies as dessert.

After our filling and satisfying dinner, we washed up for the day and had the chips and more wine while watching video (I think we were watching The Zone on Disney +) before ending the night.

That's all for Day 5!
