Day 8 started early and we decided to book a private transfer to get to the Napoli train station instead of catching the train. Our initial plan was the public train but after reading about how packed it is, we're afraid that we can't make it with our luggage and decided to just err on the side of caution and take a private transfer and travel in style and rest on the way lol.
We ended up being too early for our train and it was raining so we spent quite a bit of time having breakfast. Breakfast wasn't planned there but luckily, our driver recommended another spot right outside the train station which is good too. Pretty good value for money, like all these for less than 20EUR!
Gran Bar D'Ago
Sausage roll, Chocolate and Pistachio Croissant, Pistachio slice with 2 long blacks!
Stayed there for quite a while since we were early. Then we hopped on the train and headed toward Florence. Our hotel for the next couple of nights - Eco Urban B&B.
After leaving our stuff in hotel, we set off for our timed dome entry at Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore.
Taking some photos around the area first.
Even though it was a timed entry, there was still a queue to enter and there was no clear signage.
Finally entering.
There was a long queue to enter the Cathedral and while we can't be in the main side, we could get a glimpse of the interior without having to queue for it.
Starting the dome climb.
Some statues mid-way up.
And you can get a close up of the ceiling paintings.
Continuing the climb.
Some parts can be quite narrow.
Reaching the top!
And spamming photos to make the effort of climbing worth it lol.
Going back down.
Empty as the admission had closed.
To be continued in the next post on other attractions!
