New Zealand Trip 2023 Day 11 Part 2 ~ Piripiri Cave Walk, Marokopa Falls, Mangapohue Natural Bridge, Waitomo Lookout Point, Stoked Eatery, Waitomo Lodge

Baby Gelato is here and hence the silence here with the latest post on 15 Dec. Not sure how often will be posting, given that we'll be managing on our own soon with confinement coming to an end.

So continuing from where I left off almost a month ago...

*****

After the glowworm cave tour, we continued the drive to the next stop, Piripiri Cave Walk.

A very short walk from the car park and having just gone to the Raukuri Cave, this pales in comparison lol. But it's free after all.

Just a very small platform to view and that's all, so we left shortly.

Next stop was a short drive away, Marokopa Falls.

This part that turkey is stepping on is supposedly unstable hence they have a barricade. But people *ahem ahem* still cross it.

Next stop.
Mangapohue Natural Bridge

The swing bridge which is now closed.

Unfortunately, we couldnt see the natural bridge as the road is closed for maintenance. This was originally a cave but got eroded and formed a gorge. The "bridge" was the only part joining the 2 steep walls.

Had some time to spare so we drove back towards the centre and visited the toilets there. Will miss having the convenience and clean toilets everywhere! For free!

Since we had time left, we decided to take a walk to get some views of Waitomo!

Pretty good view for a relatively easy walk!

Dinner was at Stoked Eatery.

Plum and Strawberry Daiquiri cider.

Seafood chowder.

Crispy Pork Bites.

Onion rings.

Fish and chips with add on satay sauce lol.

Peanut Butter Parfait.

Finally back at the lodge after dinner. Simple but spacious.

Added nice touch of bottled water and Whittakers!

That's all for day 11! Half way through!
