After a long drive, we parked the car at the free car park.
I saw that they had resumed the free shuttle service but werent sure where the pickup point was so we kinda walked around abit. Luckily, the shuttle came and we managed to hop on.
Arrived slightly early and waited at the departure centre.
After boarding the cruise, it was just non stop photo taking to capture the famed Milford Sound.
Lots of waterfalls as it was raining.
Wearing the jacket as was still drizzling.
There was a school of dolphins swimming right below the cruise and managed to take some videos.
Stopped by the cafe for some light snacks.
And we walked the Milford Foreshore Walk.
And we started the drive back, stopping by a few more stops for more photos.
Then we started the Key Summit Hike.
It stopped raining momentarily as we were starting out.
And the rain got super heavy and windy..
Braved the rain and wind but the view was disappointing with the clouds.
Heading back to the car.
On the way back, we stopped by some other stops but we hardly got off to walk as the rain was pretty heavy.
So we ended up heading back straight to Te Anau centre and >1 hr early for our dinner reservation. Luckily, we didn't have to wait long to be seated.
As usual, glass of wine each.
Duck Wontons
Famous pulled duck wontons, sweet and sour sauce
Seafood Chowder
Creamy seafood chowder with green lip mussels, salmon, market fish, prawns, ciabatta roll
Market Fish
Freshly Caught Monkfish, sweet in flavour texture, citrus potatoes, wild watercress, lemon oil and a mango salsa
After dinner, we headed back to rest for the night as the rain did not stop. We didn't have much luck with the weather this trip, unfortunately.
