New Zealand Trip 2022 Day 17 Part 2 ~ Clay Cliffs, Lake Ruataniwha, Twizel, Pukaki Kettle Hole Track, Lake Pukaki, Mt Cook Lodge, Kea Point
Next stop was Claf Cliffs. There was an admission fee to enter at $5 per car and is based on the honesty system. Drop the money in and drive through.
After that, we dropped by Lake Ruataniwha for a quick photo stop.
So blue~
Then we stopped over at Twizel for lunch. The sky was cloudless~
When we found the Apple Crumble Cider lol. We had it with our packed lunch from yesterday as we were too full and couldn't finish it the day before.
We explored Twizel a little.
And we continued our journey to Lake Pukaki.
Spamming lots of photos around the lake.
Then we drove up the Kettlehole Track. Which didn't require an hour hike as we just drove all the way up unknowingly lol.
The famed salmon shop. Where we got some sashimi to go with our dinner at Mount Cook.
That view.
And we set off on our scenic drive up to Mount Cook.
The famous road leading up to Mount Cook.
The must have shot lol.
Finally we arrived at Mount Cook Hermitage Hotel. We were both expecting the village to be bigger than this lol.
The lodge.
Our first hike at Mount Cook was the easy 1 hour return Kea Point.
The viewpoint of the glacier water.
Met a group of Swiss retirees who helped us take photos.
And taught us to use Portrait mode for photos lol!
After the hike, we headed back to the room to wash up and prep dinner. As the only dinner option was the buffet dinner at the hotel, we decided to just have something simple - Korean Ramen with Sashimi.
And ending with chips and another cider!
Tried capturing the stars at night but it just looks pitch dark lol. We just got out to have a quick look and went back to the room as it was quite cold.
That's all for day 17!
