We checked out of Glenorchy Base Camp and head towards Queenstown for the Shotover Jet, which was cancelled the year before due to heavy rain the night before our tour and caused the water level to increase too much.
As usual, pretty sunny in Queenstown!
It was v organised and 'well-runned' in the sense that everything was very structured, start and stop on time. But feels like a missing personal touch which we enjoyed from the Hanmer Spring Jetboating. Also, we were unfortunately seated at the last row where we got really drenched. Luckily I had my waterproof shell on.
Thereafter, we headed to Queenstown Centre for lunch.
Took this photo as this area was full of construction the year before!
When in Queenstown, must have Ferg.
It was a weekend and Queenstown was bustling but now crowded! So we decided to hang around longer.
Chill weekend vibes with some handicraft stalls.
Recalled construction here right outside the hotel the year before too.
After soaking in the vibes, we set off to Cross Hill Dome towards Wanaka.
Not sure why I took photos in the car lol.
And arriving the the very much awaited glamping experience!
Breakfast table.
Lounge area.
Hot tub, which we booked for the following day post hike.
Stay tuned for the next post on the Dome interior!
